Background Niël Pienaar's passion for accounting started while he was still in high school. Inspired by his father, who was the head of the Auditor General's office at the time, and motivated by his genuine desire to help people, Niël embarked on a career path that led him to grow Niël Pienaar & Associates to the outstanding business it is today.
Upon completing his articles, Niël worked at the audit firm as senior audit manager for two years. He then accepted the position of Financial Director at the construction company, R McCarthy and Co. He held this position for three years before moving on to the position of Financial Director for Bloem Delta.
After three years with Bloem Delta, Niël decided that the six years he had spent in the business world had given him invaluable experience and that it was time to use his insights in private practice once again. Thus Niël Pienaar & Associates was founded in October 1990.
Niël Pienaar & Associates started operations from Niël's home. He worked for the first year, steadily building up a loyal client base. The business then started to expand and Niël appointed Niël Pienaar & Associates' first article clerk.
The business continued to develop successfully and soon it became necessary to buy offices to accommodate the growing staff compliment. Niël Pienaar & Associates' first clients were in Bloemfontein, Kimberley and Barkly East. Today our client base ranges all over South Africa and internationaly.
We have identified a great need for our services in the small towns and rural areas of the Free State, especially among farmers, who appreciate the personal attention they get, and subsequently are focusing on expanding our services into these areas.
